Infocomm Club

2010 marks the first year that Learning Edge's Infocomm Club organized its annual Animation Camp for all its Infocomm Club schools.

The Animation Camp’s objective is to allow students to apply and consolidate what they have learnt before and to provide an engaging introduction to concepts that they need for their further development.

On the 1st day at MacRitchie Reservoir, Learning Edge partnered with Nparks for the students to participate in its two competitions entitled "Community In Bloom" and "Divercity".

For "Community In Bloom", students learned about the techniques used in Stop Motion animation and produced creative animations using human formations and crayon illustrations in the luscious vicinity of the park. While for "Divercity", students roamed the park in groups to hunt for unique and colourful flowers that the park has on show.

On the 2nd day, the students experienced a learning journey to Nanyang Polytechic's School of Interactive & Digital Media as well as a cinematic tour of Eng Wah Cinema at Suntec City.

At Nanyang Polytechnic, the students viewed the labs and equipments used in the Interactive & Digital Media course, and what the course can offer to students who would like to further their pursuit in digital media. While at Eng Wah Cinema, they were brought into the projector room and briefed about the process of cinema movie projection. They ended the Animation Camp with an animated movie - "Alice in Wonderland".
